I’m grateful to be able to say that my children have inherited my penchant for interesting vocabulary. AB is relishing the lessons they’ve been doing in her class on adding “juicy details” to one’s writing. Yesterday, E correctly (and metaphorically) used the word “begat” in a sentence. More on their lexical prowess later.
For now, we can just enjoy this word-at-a-time ‘story’ that our little family wrote. As always with this activity, we end up with something that has no cohesive plot or even very many coherent sentences… but it’s fun! And it teaches some good life lessons about relinquishing control for the benefit of the collective masterpiece. Ha.
(Yes, my 11-year-old son’s first two word contributions were “butt” and “butts”.)
To be continued, I guess.

Do you think all of your blog-followers know about word-at-a-time stories? When it’s all in the same handwriting it can look a little psycho!
I’m just hoping it’s basically self-explanatory!
Haven’t played that in a very long time. But its a good reminder when I visit with my niece next time.
Oh, I’m glad to hear that it’s a game you’ve played too!
