ah, Diana, you’ve done it again – a wonderful evocation of a marvellous, unique woman, my mother.
just one correction: she was never an airline stewardess; she worked in the reservations ( a big and complicated job before computers), which had always been done exclusively by men – she told United Airlines that they would need women in these jobs as the war drew away the men, and they might as well start with her, so they did. A pioneer and a feminist, not “just” a stewardess. she rocked.

I did not know your Gramma, but you write so eloquently I feel like I know a little bit of her now!
How wonderful that she gets to be with Frank again. And how wonderful that Sebastian is being cuddled by such a wonderful, warm, caring, lady. She’ll take good care of him. And him, Her.
