To my baby daddy

sean and his baby, june 2009

Dear Hubbibi,

Thanks for being you. YOU are a fantastic father – an absolute natural. Thanks for being a Daddy who…

… timed my contractions for hours and never failed me during a hard labour that took forever…

… never lost your cool during a freaky labour that took almost no time at all…

… begets really cute children…

… changed ALL the diapers in the first week of parenthood, and countless others afterwards…

… makes your firstborn son laugh uproariously on a daily basis…

… knows how to get him to sleep…

… ensures that the veggies get eaten…

… does dishes and vacuuming to the highest standard of perfection…

… demonstrates wonder, curiosity, and learning in everyday life…

… makes bath time super-awesome…

… doesn’t gag at the gross moments…

… will be able to keep up the illusion of knowing everything for a long time – possibly forever…

… makes fantastic sound effects…

… takes your son on long exploratory hikes, even if you have to trek a long way with him on your shoulders at the end…

… consciously uses patience…

… is a wonderful example of gentleness combined with strength…

… can say no when needed…

… remembers very well how to play…

… is, in fact, a Lego master…

… will sing and dance with your kid, even though you don’t think you’re good at it…

… shows your child that real men have depth, use respect, think hard, care a lot, and treat others well…

… never holds back in showing love and affection to your family…

… appreciates, even though it’s so hard, being the father of two sons, one of whom you can hold only in your heart…

… is truly thrilled to be expecting a daughter…

… and takes such good care of your baby mama.

I love you jillions.

Awwww, that it so nice! 🙂 It’s true, he’s an inspiration and has set the Daddy-bar high.
