Random News

  • As of yesterday, March 1st, 2010, two new teeth were noticeable in E’s mouth! Lower right outer incisor, upper left front (as it turns out, the first one he cut on the top was not right in front, but off to the side). Good story, eh?
  • I am writing a big post about the Olympics, coming soon. Dilovely admits to and analyzes Canadian pride.
  • I am sheepish for not writing more this past week or so. Je m’excuse.
  • E has not been napping very well this week… which may have something to do with above-mentioned blog neglect. He has his navy seal duties to attend to, and drama to practice.
  • Beautiful sunny days, two in a row, walks with the stroller, blue skies, rushing water in gutters, snow melting, faint smell of earth. (We’re bound to get a cold snap any time now.)
  • New blog is getting organized! Soon to be available on an InterWeb near you.
  • Since this post is pretty boring, check this out for something more interesting (but not right before bedtime because it will scare you).

Oh, do try the baby backpack for those sunny walks! I really think you’ll love it. I didn’t have a stroller till Bethany, and then only because someone handed one down. The backpack has baby up by your face, there’s lovely patting and cuddling, and you both see the same things at the same time. I heartily recommend it!

The backpack is to the stroller what co-sleeping is to the cradle.

I will most definitely try this! When it’s been colder, I’ve been using the stroller with the weather shield – when I had him in the wrap on me in cold weather, the wind would make him gasp and we would end up covering his face with gloves or hat… but I do think it’s mild enough these days. Thanks!

I told Alix about the navy seal thing. She said yesterday that she had reason to demonstrate it on her own at the birthday party, trying to gain access to children’s toys from the collapsible tunnel thing, and thought of E.

The weather there sounds nicer than here! Perhaps. Yesterday was all about cold snowy rainyness. Which is just as well, since I have a cold and am mostly being a big slouch and sleeping a lot. Also staring out windows a lot, since it is really pretty here in spite of the cold, and there are birds. Someday I’ll have to come at a time other than Will’s birthday, so I can see it in bloom! It has been a bit nice, though; the other night we took the trash out to the bottom of the hill and I thought it smelled wonderfully like spring. Of course, Rob, who is from Florida, thinks it’s freezing at such temps. We did take a lovely walk, though, on the weekend, with sunshine and everything.

I guess this should really be an email and not a blog comment, but what the heck. Bonus randomness for your readers.

Creepy fish faces and teeth = EWW.
